On Friday, April 27, the School of Art, Design and Architecture held its annual Awards Ceremony to recognize achievements among graduating bachelor’s and master’s students. The Department of Architecture presented the graduating members of the Gamma Xi chapter with the stoles that they wore with their regalia during the commencement ceremony on the following day. On Saturday, six of our members received their degrees in architecture: four M.Arch. and two B.A.A.S. degrees.
In addition, Prof. Keelan Kaiser, Chair of the Department of Architecture, presented Kevin Solomon with the first Gamma Xi Chapter Bronze Medal in recognition of his high academic accomplishments.
On Tuesday, April 24, the first members of the Gamma Xi Chapter of Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society were officially inducted at a ceremony held in the Harm A. Weber Center. We were delighted to be joined by Dr. Curtis Sartor (SADA Dean), Dr. Dale Simmons (Provost) and Dr. Jerry Cain (Judson U President).
President Cain addressed the students, congratulating them as exemplars of Judson students who “go the extra mile.”
After the presentation of membership certificates, Dr. Jhennifer Amundson (Faculty Advisor) lead the new officers in taking their oaths of office.
David Easterday (Secretary), Lindsay Wehmeier (Treasurer), and Christian Korta (President) quickly got down to business with the very important presentation of the cake!
Christian demonstrates the practical meaning of the Society’s motto, Technitai Sophoikai Dexioti (“craftsmen, skilled and trained”) with his first official act as president, cutting the cake. Well done Christian, and congratulations new members!
Thanks to Ms. Cyndi Zarris for great help in organizing the event, and to Prof. Ian Hoffman for his assistance as Paparazzo for the day.
